Car Flies Off I-83 In Harrisburg, Landing Near Train

Two people were injured Monday night when a car went down an embankment along I-83 in Harrisburg, according to Emergency Dispatch Services.

The accident occurred near Exit 45 to South 32nd Street in Harrisburg just before 8 p.m.

I-83 remained closed or with partial lane restriction for hours as crews cleared the scene.

The car involved changed lanes before crossing an embankment, going down the incline, landing just short of a parked train, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

“One person [involved in the crash] will either be taken by ambulance or flown for medical care to the hospital,” PennDOT said in a statement.

Another person involved suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
